On February 24, 2022 Oleh Savytskyi emailed from his office in Kyiv, Ukraine to his international contacts: "Big Oil is coming to kill us please help! Outside, bombs began falling on the first night of Russia's full-scale invasion.

Oleg Savytskyi is a climate and energy policy expert and an active participant in international environmental movements. He co-founded Razom We Stand, an independent Ukrainian organization that links fossil fuel dependency to autocracy and terror, particularly to war crimes in Ukraine.

Recently, he co-wrote an article in an online newspaper, Euromaidan Press, called Big Oil Finances Putin's War Crimes and Trump's Political Ambitions.

In this interview, he discusses how oil and gas addiction fuels Putins war machine and autocracy world-wide. He claims that the war in Ukraine is not just between Russia and Ukraine, it is a war of the fossil fuel industry against all of humanity. He discusses Russia, OPEC, Western and American companies, as well as Putin and Trump.
